Main economic activity: Agriculture: The Tanzanian economy depends heavily on agriculture, which accounts for more than 25% of GDP, provides 85% of exports, and employs 80% of the work force. Industry which, accounts for 22.6% of GDP. Tanzania's industrial sector is one of the fastest growing in Africa (2010 rankings). As of September 2012, the mining sector of Tanzania contributes 4.6% to the national economy. Gold and Nickel also significantly contribute to the country's economic growth.
